MCLE Speaker Spotlight: Angel Riley

Angel Riley is an associate in Hopkins & Carley’s Redwood City office and a member of the Family Wealth & Tax Planning Practice. Angel’s primary focus is on estate planning, trust administration and probate.

As an estate planning attorney, she prepares revocable trusts and wills for individuals, business owners, and families with special needs children. In addition, she advises clients on proper estate planning to cater to their individual family dynamic and situations as well as important issues surrounding federal and state tax as it relates to gifts and inheritance. She also assists clients in probate matters and has represented clients in various counties including Alameda, Sonoma, and San Mateo County for trust and will administration.

Angel has the ability to interact with clients in Mandarin Chinese and the Sichuan dialect and can offer legal services to a diverse community within the bay area. She also publishes Chinese articles in the California Property Guide on issues related to estate planning. In October 2014 and December 2014, she was the featured attorney in the Chinese World Journal.

On the business side, Ms. Riley has assisted clients to successfully organize corporations, partnerships, limited partnerships, and limited liability companies, working closely with individual and family owners. In numerous cases, she has represented officers, directors and shareholders in transactions with corporations and other entities. She has worked with clients in the conversion of entities from one form to another, dissolution of entities, as well as acquisitions of commercial businesses.

While in law school, she served as a Sergeant in the United States Army Reserve. Currently, she is an Adjunct Business Law Professor for the San Mateo County Community College District.
