SCCBA FORUM GUIDELINES
Thanks for being part of our Forum community. To ensure the best possible experience for all Forum members, we have established some basic guidelines for participation.
By using the Forum, you agree that you have read and will follow the guidelines set for these peer discussion groups. You also agree to reserve list discussions for topics best suited to the medium. This is a great way to solicit the advice of your peers, benefit from their experience, and participate in an ongoing conversation.
Please take a moment to acquaint yourself with these important guidelines. If you have questions, contact the Executive Director at sccbar@sbcglobal.net. In order to preserve a climate that encourages both civil and fruitful dialogue, the Santa Cruz County Bar Association (SCCBA) reserves the right to suspend or terminate membership on all Forums for members who violate these terms. If you do not accept these guidelines, please contact us at sccbar@sbcglobal.net, and we will remove you from the Forum.
THE RULES
Allowed Content
The SCCBA Forums are a members-only benefit, intended exclusively for business-related discussions among members.
All posters must identify themselves. You may not post anonymously.
Use caution in your discussion posts. Information posted on the Forums is available for all Forum members to see, and comments are subject to libel, slander, and antitrust laws.
Prohibited Content
The SCCBA Forums are not to be used for personal, political, and/or commercial purposes, to solicit membership in or fundraise for other organizations, or to advertise or market non-SCCBA related programs or events.
Do not post commercial messages on any Forum. You may contact people directly with information if you believe it would help them, but any messages selling items or services, promoting products, organizations, fundraisers, special causes, etc., or in any other way engaging in these types of activities will be removed.
Do not attack or disparage others. The discussions on the Forums are meant to stimulate conversation, not to create contention. Let others have their say, just as you have yours.
All defamatory, abusive, profane, threatening, offensive, or illegal materials or language are strictly prohibited. Do not post anything in a Forum that you would not want the world to see or that you would not want anyone to know came from you.
Do not distribute any SPAM, solicitation, chain letters, petitions for signatures or letters relating to pyramid schemes, missing persons or once-in-a-lifetime deals. Do not use the Forum to invite the entire list to join your social network (Facebook, Myspace, Linkedin, etc). You may invite individuals to join your network but may not invite the entire Forum membership.
